Antarctica Part VI – Dorian Bay

[nggallery id=193 template=”caption”]

After we settled ourselves on the ship, it wasn’t long till we heard our ship’s engine stop.  The next morning, we were led up to the top of Dorian Bay after a rather steep climb in the snow.  The sun glowed over the pure virgin snow like a huge reflector light, with clouds floating over the snow and ocean.  The photographer took the chance and grabbed everyone for a group picture, then someone tripped over someone else, and a snow fight ensued.  Everyone laughed their heads off.  Some people started building snowmen, some people sat around and sank in the sight of this heaven, and some started interesting activities like yoga and pushups in Antarctica snow…..

Turned out this bay is just right across from Port Lockroy.  I sat across the sight of the port in awe of God’s creation…
