Buenos Aires Part I – Tigre

I’m glad that my couchhost is also a traveler who is a local to Buenos Aires.  When Pablo asked me where I wanted to visit, I told him when I read his booklet about Buenos Aires, Tigre sounds pretty interesting.   And I’m also glad that he knew the area pretty well, “look that’s where my apartment will be”  he told me as we drove pass by a building under construction near the port going to Tigre islands, “we bought a space up there not long ago.”

Tigre is the delta part Rio Paraguay right before it feeds into the ocean.  It is composed numerous islands – or delta lands separated from the main land by the river.  Pablo told me 10 years ago this part of Buenos Aires is pretty run down and dangerous, but the city government saw its tourism potential and now it is one of the top spots of the BAers to vacation or campout during the summer.
