We knew that the delicacies around Confucious Temple is overrated, but one of my favorite chain restaurants had a stellar location not far from it.
The restaurant NanJing DaPai Dang (Nanjing Plaza) is known for their affordable, authentic foods and environment.
They even got balcony seating next to Qinhuai River.
Where you can eat and watch people passing by on boats.
After dinner we walked around the plaza next to Qinhuai River.
The place is was the Red Light District of the ancient imperial city, where the eight historical beauties lived.
Dock for boat departure.
A relief of the eight beauties and stories of their lives next to the dock.
Stage right across from the dock held a traditional Chinese play.
You can see numerous restaurants along the river.
Statues of famous figures.
A mini stage
Stage sometimes held plays for dinners and boaters alike.
Pagoda decorated with lights.
Relief under a bridge
An ongoing play.
It was quite rainy the next day, and we found a lot of tourist attractions closed. So we went to grab some coffee and found these seatings right outside a bar. Too bad as it was rainning we cannot use these seats.
