Punta de Este, Uruguay

This beach town is one of the primary vacation destinations for Uruguayans.  Since this is the peak vacation time of the year, this expensive town is crowded with young people showing in their beautiful bodies on the beaches or in Mercedes.  Starting price for a typical basic hotel room was around $130, even a bed in a hostel costed $40 a night.  This doesn’t stop people from coming, instead our Oceanside hostel was new but filled with young Uruguayans.

Not your typical spot for a typical backpacking trip unless you can find some people to party with.  I did find some people in my hostel to go out to party with, while I had to wait for them in the parking lot, several other locals starting to chat up with me and I lost them…. I was never ditched by people who went out with me, but apparently these people I went out with mistaken me for changing groups when I chatted up with some people in the parking lot.

Fortunately my hostel was not far from this club, so I walked back home at 4 in the morning.
