Sacred Valley III – Ollantaytambo, Peru

I tried to contact the Japanese guy I met on the plane to Cuzco but he did not reply.  It was after all his recommendation to visit this place where he had lived and loved.  I got in this Inca village that late evening.  The entire village was surrounded by several different ruins on the mountains next to it.  It was then I realized that our Inca trail trek stopped here before the start of the trail to get our supplies. Most of trekking tour buses stop here for their supplies.  This is also the only train stop in between Machu Picchu and Cuzco.  Apparently a lot of visitors liked to stop here for a night.

Though touristy with its original Inca walls, you could still feel its fresh and quietness in a calm summer night.  I visited its biggest ruin the next day and had some very nice views of the village from the top.
