Sacred Valley IV – Salineras Salt Mine

[nggallery id=119]

Since I did not make to Morrey the first day, I wanted to go to Morrey the next day.  However I had a hard time finding enough people to split a taxi ride from Ollantaytambo to Morray.  I did find two Americans interested in going to Morray, but they ran out of their money and had to return to Cuzco as soon as possible.  The two Swiss girls came up to me with a proposal to split a taxi for their Salineras Salt Mine trip, and since I could not find anyone going to Morrey, I ended up changing my plan.

Our hostel owner told us that the taxi was entirely unnecessary.  We could take a normal bus going back to Cuzco and be drop off near the Salt Mine’s village.  From there, hike up a kilometer and you will see the salt mine.  I’m happy to have the Swiss girls in my company, they knew how ask their way in Spanish much more fluently than I did.

And the Salt Mines was definitely not a bad alternative…
